‘Beachscape’ watercolour scene workshop

Bryony’s Creative Crafts Workshops in Yoxall continues, with learning to paint watercolours, a ‘Beachscapes’ scene. In this friendly, relaxed workshop students will create a watery summer-themed seaside scene, using watercolours to explore techniques such as wet-on-wet, and working on pre-stretched paper. A frame to present your work can be bought on the night for £3 if you wish.

All materials are provided, no experience necessary, this is a beginner-friendly session.

‘Little Houses’ collages workshop

Wednesday 7th August 2024, Yoxall Parish Hall (upstairs), Staffordshire, DE13 8NF

6.30pm - 8.30pm

Come and see how I use pre-loved and textured papers to create sweet little house scenes. The collage house scenes are a great introduction to what is basically ‘drawing with shapes’.

Lots of tips and tricks will be given for you to make your own Home Sweet Home image for the wall or to give as a gift. Suitable for beginners to experienced makers, come along and spend a relaxing evening cutting and sticking with friends, all materials provided, including a small frame.

Christmas Cards & Tags workshop

Come and make that special person a unique Christmas card, using watercolours and collage techniques. You will also have the chance to produce 3 unique gift tags with customised ribbon details. All materials and decorative extra bits are provided.

Create Watercolour Floral Cards Workshop

A watercolour floral workshop to design and paint a pair of gorgeous quality greeting cards.

Meet friends & have a little creative me-time.

  • Join artist Bryony Halsted for an enjoyable painting class learning how to create easy floral designs for high quality greeting cards. Get in the floral vibe. You will get to make 2 original cards on watercolour card stock, (complete with envelopes so they can be gifted to a friend or loved one).

  • The designs taught will be a floral wreath circle, a swag and a posy design. This is a beginner-friendly workshop where you do not need to know a thing about watercolours or drawing flowers! By the end of this session you will have mastered mixing colours, painting different leaf and floral shapes, and will have some gorgeous hand-made creations to show off.

  • All materials will be provided and there will be handy worksheets with top tips for you to take away and remind you how to make more of your own designs at home.

This enjoyable Yoxall Crafts Session has limited numbers so please book early. If you cannot get a space, please do message me directly. I would then create a waiting list and if enough demand, I will offer a second session for this usually popular course.

‘Plant Shelfie’ collage workshop

Wednesday 7th February 2024, Yoxall Parish Hall, Staffordshire, DE13 8NF

6.30pm - 8.30pm

Bryony will be teaching her techniques for paper collage in the workshop ‘Plants Shelfie’, the first Creative Crafts Workshop for 2024, Yoxall. In this friendly workshop students will create a stylised leafy house plant scene, as an artwork to put in a provided wooden frame.

With Bryony’s top tips and advice, you will learn to draw different plant styles, and experience how to use mix-media collage to ‘draw’ with shapes. Improve your layout design skills when arranging your finished artwork, as well as improve confidence when selecting colour combinations and drawing with pen-line. To make a satisfyingly complete framed artwork, finish off your design with an uplifting phrase, (suggestions are provided) to give your artwork a positive and personalised message. Perfect to hang on your wall, or even give as a gift.

Come along for a fun evening of creative making. Any level of arts experience is catered for. Light refreshments and all materials, including a frame will be provided.

Linocut Printmaking for Fun

Experience linocut printing techniques, to create a single colour relief print. Every student will create a unique design to frame and take home.

In this workshop techniques will be taught by artist Bryony Halsted, and it can be seen as an introduction to a printmaking technique which can be created without a press. Enjoy the process of exploring mark-making using printmaking tools, and get the satisfaction of seeing your efforts framed by the end of the session!

These art classes are intended to be relaxed and friendly opportunities to enjoy art in a peaceful and beautiful setting. The workshop is open to all levels -beginners to advanced artists welcome!

All art materials are supplied for use in this course. Reference photo imagery can be brought along as inspiration. Other imagery will be supplied by the teacher, to help with ideas for designs.

A refreshment break is included during this morning workshop session.

Landscapes in Collage and Paint

Tuesday 4th July 2023, Yoxall, Staffordshire

10am - 12.30pm

Learn how to make a simple but effective collaged and painted landscape scene. Each view will be made using a mixed media approach, using a mixture of hand-painted papers and collage materials drawn from a collection which will be provided. We will work from reference photos, but students are welcome to bring along additional items and landscape images for their own inspiration if they wish. All materials including a frame are provided, and any level of arts experience is welcome!

Come along for a morning of relaxing making, drawing and painting. Light refreshments will be provided mid-morning.

The workshop is held at the rural venue of Forest Harvest* at Woodmill, just outside of Yoxall. (Please search with Google Maps as this shows accurate location!) It has parking facilities through a gateway, look out for the green A-board when you arrive.
